Colorado Chrstian Montessori

Sarah had a dream to start a school that combined two of her passions: Montessori and Christian education. She started the first Christian Montessori Preschool in Colorado in 2002. Sarah fell in love with the Montessori method of teaching.

The individualized curriculum and beautiful hands-on materials felt revolutionary even though they had been around for 100 years. She loved how it allowed you to meet each child right where they were at and take them as far as they could go. Sarah wanted to help make the Bible come alive for children and connect them with the love of their Savior at an early age. In addition to her role as Director, she is also the lead teacher for the Butterfly class.

In 2009, Sarah’s sister, Deborah, moved back to Denver from New England to partner with her and take this program to the next level. Deborah has always had a passion for working with children and is so happy to have found what she believes is the best method of teaching. Also the Tadpole class lead teacher, Deborah loves how Montessori shows respect for each child, fosters their individual interests, and nurtures their independence.

Hi! I'm Ms. Deborah! I will be teaching in the Tadpole Class this year. I am a Colorado native. I moved to New England in 2003 where I met my sweet husband, Matt. I took my training in 2009 in Boston and then we moved back to Colorado so that I could work with my sister, Sarah, here at CCM. I have two wonderful children, Margaret (6) and Matty (10). We love spending time together traveling and exploring new states. My kids love mapping out a road trip and seeing all the beauty around us! When I'm not at CCM, you can find me at the soccer fields or at the dance studio supporting my sweet kids! I love kids and I love teaching them about Jesus.

Butterfly Class Lead Teacher

Hi! I'm Ms. Sarah! I will be teaching in the Butterfly Class this year. I grew up here, in Colorado and I have always enjoyed working with kids. I fell in love with Montessori and took my training in Boulder. I wanted to combine the Montessori Method with Christ- Centered curriculum. I opened up the 1st Christian Montessori in the Denver Metro area 21 years ago. God has given us a great vision and helped us grow from 6 students my first year to 3 classrooms now! Teaching and Directing at the school keeps me pretty busy. When I'm not at CCM, I enjoy spending time with my family. I have 2 kids, Asher (12) and Samantha (15), who both previously attended CCM through 5th grade. Volleyball, Cheer, and Hockey Mom here! Over the years, I've seen how Christian Montessori makes a difference in the lives of children, but I've been able to really appreciate it in a whole new way as a parent. I praise God for his goodness in this school!

Butterfly Class Assistant Teacher

Hi, I’m Ms. Jill! I moved to Colorado in August of 2020. I grew up in New England, but love the beauty of Colorado. I just took my Montessori training this summer and I am very excited to be working with Ms. Sarah in the Butterfly class. My favorite thing is coffee!! My favorite drink is the Nitro cold brew with Pumpkin foam. I also love to sing and play the guitar. Jesus is the center of my life and I love sharing about him with the students!

Butterfly Class Associate Teacher

Hi! I'm Ms. Melissa! I am so happy to be working with Ms. Sarah again this year in the Butterfly class. My nephew, (a former Butterfly) helped introduce me to CCM. I've enjoyed 25 years as a classroom teacher in Jeffco (primarily in kinder and 1st) and I am excited to now have the opportunity to help guide young learners within the Christian Montessori model. Family is a big part of my life as I am blessed with one son, seven siblings and lots of wonderful nieces and nephews.

Tadpole Class Assistant Teacher

Hi I’m Ms. Zoe! I will be working in the Tadpole class. I have been working in child care for three years and really enjoy it! I love getting to make special connections with children everyday. I have lived in Colorado for 16 years and attended a Montessori school for kinder-5th grade. I really liked going to a Montessori school and it’s been a blessing being able to teach in a Montessori classroom. Religion is really big part of my life, so when I found Colorado Christian Montessori, I knew I wanted to work there. I am very blessed to have this opportunity and am very thankful that God brought me to this school. When I’m not at CCM, I am spending time with my family, attending church with my fiancé, or snuggling my cat!
